CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Coral Gables police are searching for a man who robbed a woman of her purse last month in the parking garage at the Village of Merrick Park.

The incident was reported about 7:45 p.m. April 24 at the parking garage at 4130 Ponce De Leon Blvd.

Police said the man pulled out a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded the victim's purse as she was getting inside her parked car.

"My piece of mind was just completely shattered when I saw the man standing there, and all he said was, 'Give me your purse. Give me your purse.' That’s all he said. And while he was saying it, he was pointing the gun at me," the victim told Local 10 News.

Police said the woman complied with the thief's orders and he ran out of the garage toward Ponce De Leon Boulevard.

According to authorities, surveillance video shows the thief and another man using the woman's credit card at a Target store at 21265 Biscayne Blvd.
