Woman dies in crash on Sawgrass Expressway

FHP investigating cause of crash


SUNRISE, Fla. – A 28-year-old woman died Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on the Sawgrass Expressway, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Ashley Hess was heading southbound on the expressway when she lost control of her Chevrolet pickup and veered across several lanes, overturned and came to a rest in the northbound lanes. 

Hess was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene, and FHP report said. She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
