Man accused of robbing 73-year-old man in Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino parking garage

Edenson Major, 28, accused of stealing $1,895 from victim

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A man accused of robbing a 73-year-old man Monday inside a parking garage at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood was arrested Wednesday.

Edenson Major, 28, appeared in court Thursday on charges of robbery by sudden snatching, theft and battery on a person 65 years or older.

Surveillance video showed a man believed to be Major stalking the victim inside the casino before following him out to the third floor of the Winner's Way Parking Garage just after noon.

Seminole Tribe spokesman Gary Bitner said Major grabbed the victim from behind, reached into his pocket and took $1,895 in cash.

Bitner said the victim fell to the ground when Major let him go.

Surveillance video showed Major walk to his car, but it wouldn't start.

Bitner said a passerby offered to jumpstart the car and then gave Major a ride to the corner of Stirling Road and U.S. Route 441.

Seminole police later found the car in the parking garage and contacted its owner, who said he had loaned the car to his cousin, Major.
