FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man died Friday after being pulled from the water off Fort Lauderdale, authorities said.
Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Tracy Figone said police responded to the 900 block of A1A about 1:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a body floating in the waterway.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials said the man was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
According to Figone, the man is a "local transient individual," who is believed to have walked into the water about 30 minutes before his body was found.
Detectives do not suspect foul play in his death.
Fort Lauderdale police Detective Keven Dupree said the victim's name will not be released until authorities can notify his family.
