2 teens arrested in Scott Park shooting

Suspects met victim to make purchase of item via social media

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the May shooting of two men in Miami Gardens.

Miami Gardens police said Jahni Smith, 16, and Joshua Johnson, 18, were arrested on charges of robbery and attempted murder.

Police said the suspects met with Jerry Jean, 23, and Frederick Barrett, 22, at Scott Park, 17710 NW 15th Court, on May 12 to make a purchase of an item after negotiating a price on social media. Police said the sale was taking place when the suspects pulled out a gun, stole the victims' money and shot them.

Both men were taken to hospitals and survived their gunshot wounds.

Smith was located and arrested May 30. Johnson was located and arrested Friday.
