Miami police seek armed cellphone robber

Robber takes off in Corolla after incident, police say

MIAMI – Miami police are searching for a man believed to have conducted an armed robbery Wednesday afternoon.

The victim was walking in the 1800 block West Flagler Street at about 2 p.m., when he was approached by a man at gunpoint, who demanded that he hand over his cellphone, police said.

The victim complied with the demand.

The robber then took off through a shopping center and got into a white Toyota Corolla driven by an unknown accomplice, police said. That vehicle made off northbound on Northwest 19th Avenue.

The robber is described as being between 5 foot 7 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall, had tattoos on his neck, gold bottom row teeth and light eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue sweater and blue jeans.
