Live spider removed from woman's ear after intense pain
PORTHCAWL, Wales – A woman who felt intense pain after a swim had a nurse pull a live spider out of her ear, UPI reports.
Victoria Price of Porthcawl, Wales said her ear starting hurting after one of her daily swims, which she thought was due to trapped water or a perforated eardrum. After she asked her husband to take a look, he told her he thought something might be alive in her ear.
When Price found herself at the hospital, triage nurse Sarah Gaze removed the spider with forceps.
"It was very straightforward," Gaze said. "The spider was visible in Victoria's inner ear and it came out quite easily. But it was alive and very wriggly. It was quite big too. It must have been twice as big as it first looked."
