Devin Lewis in custody on attempted murder, armed robbery charges

MIAMI – Miami police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection to a June 7 armed robbery of an international student.

Devin Lewis was arrested on charges of attempted murder and armed robbery with a firearm on Thursday, according to police officer  Kenia Fallat.

Frank Hammer, a recent graduate of Miami Ad School, was walking in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood after finishing dinner with his parents when he was approached by two men who robbed him near Northwest Second Avenue and Northwest 26th Street.

Hammer was shot twice during the incident, and was treated at an area hospital.

On Thursday Hammer was shown six photos in a lineup earlier in the day and was able to identify Lewis as one of his attackers.
