FORT MORGAN, Colo. – A poster commissioned to promote swim safety by the Red Cross has angered many who believe it is racist in its message.
The "Be Cool, Follow the Rules" poster in question points out various pool swimming pool conduct that is deemed appropriate and inappropriate.

KUSA in Denver reports that what's upsetting many is that most of the children behaving "not cool" in the poster are dark-skinned, while white children are portrayed acting with proper conduct.
The woman who first reported the poster thought it may have been an old, outdated work. It wasn't until she saw it at another pool that she realized it was a new campaign.
"(The children) were more designed to be children rather than any racial motivation," Red Cross spokesperson William Fortune told KUSA.
The posters have been removed and Fortune told the station that the Red Cross would be developing "more appropriate material."
