Man arrested for robbing SunTrust Bank in Plantation, FBI says

Robert Watson, 50, faces federal charges

PLANTATION, Fla. – A man accused of robbing a SunTrust bank branch in Plantation over the weekend was arrested Friday, the FBI said.

FBI Special Agent Michael Leverock said Robert Watson, 50, of Cooper City, was arrested with the help of Coral Springs police, Plantation police, the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force and the FBI.

Leverock said Watson entered the bank at 12396 W. Sunrise Blvd. about 10:40 a.m. Saturday and demanded money from a teller.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

Leverock said customers were inside the bank at the time, but no injuries were reported.

Watson is facing federal charges.
