(LAKANA) – A Centralia, Washington, resident who was trying to kill cockroaches with a homemade flamethrower started a small apartment fire, authorities said.
The flames were extinguished by the time the fire department arrived, The Associated Press reported.

The flamethrower was designed with bug spray and a lighter.
It is unknown if the flamethrower successfully exterminated any cockroaches.
