South Florida man, 26, arrested for sexual relationship with teen, deputies say

Teen's grandmother discovered evidence of relationship on girl's cellphone

KEY COLONY BEACH, Fla. – A 26-year-old man Key Colony Beach man was arrested Tuesday for having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl, Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies said.

Deputies said Dominic Portelli began the relationship with the minor in 2015 when she was 15 years old, continuing the relationship until last month when the victim was 16.

Deputies said the girl's grandmother noticed changes in her behavior and saw evidence on her cellphone that her granddaughter was having a sexual relationship with an older man.

The woman reported the evidence to the Sheriff's Office and a warrant was obtained for Portelli's arrest.

Portelli faces charges of traveling to meet a minor after using a computer to lure her, using a computer to seduce a minor, child cruelty and sexual assault on a minor.
