Woman ties up, robs landlords at gunpoint in Lauderhill

Police say tenant used electrical cords to tie up landlords

LAUDERHILL, Fla. ā€“ A man and a woman were held at gunpoint by their tenant and tied up with electrical cords Thursday afternoon in Lauderhill, police said.

The armed robbery was reported Thursday afternoon in the 5000 block of NorthwestĀ 51stĀ Avenue.

Maj. Rick Rocco said the 30-year-old woman tied up her landlords with electrical cords, stole from them and drove away in their vehicle.

While officers were investigating the robbery, the woman was seen returning to the home, Rocco said.

Police said the woman rents a room that is attached to the house.

The woman was taken into custody without incident. Rocco said she had a realistic-looking BB gun in her possession.
