Wilton Manors police investigate slashing, flattening of vehicle tires

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Wilton Manors police are asking for the public's help in finding a person who slashed or flattened multiple vehicles' tires.

Police said officers received several reports of vandalism shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday about tires on numerous vehicles that had been punctured by an unknown blunt object and flattened in the areas in the 900 block of Northeast 26th Street and the 1400 block of Northeast 24th Street.

The vandalism happened during the early morning hours and was captured on surveillance video (shown below), police said.

The alleged slasher seen in the video committed multiple acts of vandalism or criminal mischief by kneeling down while slashing or puncturing multiple vehicles' tires, according to police.

He is described by police as a white or Hispanic male with a thin build and short dark hair. Police said he wore what appeared to be a light-colored T-shirt, light-colored khaki cargo shorts, flip-flop-style sandals and eyeglasses.
