BSO detectives said the teen walked up to the unattended car, got into the driver's seat and drove away with a 1-year-old boy in the back seat.

Surveillance video showed the thief driving away in the stolen car.

The car was found abandoned about 20 minutes later. The keys were in the ignition and the child was unharmed in his car seat.

Carter said the teen faces charges of grand theft, larceny, burglary of a conveyance and child abuse without bodily harm. She said the teen was part of a four-person team, and other arrests are expected.
