Crash causes vehicle to veer into Lauderdale Lakes canal

3 taken to area hospital

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – Two drivers were involved in a crash Monday afternoon that resulted in one of them taking out part of a fence and another coming to a stop in a murky canal off of U.S. 441 in Lauderdale Lakes.

Sky 10 flew over the crash site near Oakland Park Boulevard where three people were taken to an area hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that ended up in the canal is said to be in better shape than the two others, according to the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

It's unclear which driver was at fault for the crash and the roadway has reopened.
