Miami Gardens police said the body of Jean Cenat, 22, was found just after 6 a.m. Monday in Vista Verde Park at 210001 Northwest 39th Ave. He was shot several times.

Detectives said they were able to use new technology from the department's Real Time Crime Center to find the victim's vehicle.

Police said Steven Daniels, 23, was observed using Cenat's vehicle Monday about 5:30 p.m. When he saw police approaching him, he led officers on a pursuit and attempted to ram the vehicle into an officer's, police said.

Police said Daniels eventually stopped and ran away, but he was located and taken into custody.

During their investigation, police found Cenat had arranged to meet Shuneice Thomas, 21, through social media.

Thomas was located and arrested by police, who said she lured the victim via social media to Miami Gardens with the intention of having Cenat robbed by another person.

Daniels faces charges of resisting an officer without violence, fleeing and eluding a police officer, aggravated assault on a police officer and an open warrant for petty theft.

Thomas faces charges of second-degree felony murder and armed robbery.
