MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A Miami Beach tourist identified as Tyron Robertson, 22, remained missing on Saturday, according to authorities.
Robertson was on a 17-foot rental boat when he vanished from Biscayne Bay on Friday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. A woman notified authorities.
An intense search involving the Coast Guard, Miami and Miami Beach police and fire rescue went on for hours near Belle Isle and ended about midnight.
A helicopter and divers were part of the initial search and rescue team. Only a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue boat was in the area by Saturday morning.
The rental boat he was allegedly in remained at the Sunset Harbour Yacht Club, 1928 Sunset Harbour Dr.
Authorities were asking anyone in the area to remain on the alert for signs of the missing boater.
