3 Broward firefighters injured while battling house fire

Firefighters rescued pets from Weston house fire

WESTON, Fla. – Three firefighters were recovering from injuries they suffered while working a house fire near Manatee Bay Elementary School in Weston on Sunday afternoon. 

Broward Fire Rescue spokesman Michael Jachles said they responded to the house, 19068 Park Ridge,  about 2:20 p.m. 

Jachles said firefighters reported heavy fire through the roof of the house.

A firefighter rescued family pets from the flames, Jachles said.  

The injured firefighters were set to recover from their injuries.
