Miami firefighter killed in drive-by shooting remembered by family, friends

MIAMI – Firefighters paid their final respects to one of their own on Saturday  during a service at New Birth Baptist Church.

Miami firefighter Chadrick Davis, 23, was shot and killed last weekend in a drive-by shooting while attending a wake.

Davis had been with Miami Fire Rescue for two years and had a promising career ahead of him.  

"Great person, a young man, 23 years-old, recently had a birthday. He comes from a great family," former Miami Fire Chief Maurice Kemp, who is Davis’ godfather, said.

Davis was killed beside Sir Ernest Williams, 22, while attending a wake in the 4300 block of Northwest  31st Court.

Police are investigating the shooting, and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
