Man sexually assaults woman on Miami Beach, cuts her face, police say

Victim runs to hotel, where police were called

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach police are searching for a man who attacked a woman Sunday night and sexually assaulted her.

Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said the victim was walking on the beach shortly before 10:30 p.m. on her way to work when she saw a man sitting on a beach chair.

Rodriguez said the man suddenly grabbed her from behind, punched her several times, placed her in a choke hold and cut her face with some kind of sharp object.

Rodriguez said the man also sexually assaulted the woman before she fought back and ran to a nearby hotel, where police were called.

The woman's attacker is described by police as a man in his early 30s with a slim build and dark, short, curly hair.

The man is described to be between 32 to 33 years old and between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build and dark, short curly hair.

He is said to be unshaven and was last seen wearing a faded green short sleeved T-shirt with a white logo made of triangles. The man was also seen wearing light-colored long shorts or pants with folded legs.Ā
