Police arrest 55-year-old man in couple's killing

Suspect barricades self inside home where couple found dead

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police said a 55-year-old man killed his parents Saturday inside their southwest Miami-Dade County home.

Police said Gumersindo Perez-Rodriguez barricaded himself inside the home at 14100 SW 147th Court and refused to come out.

Miami-Dade police Detective Marjorie Eloi said police entered the home and were able to convince Perez-Rodriguez to surrender.

Officers found the couple dead inside the home, but police didn't say how they died.

Perez-Rodriguez's parents are Yolanda Perez, 83, and Fermin Perez, 86. 

Perez-Rodriguez faces two counts of second-degree murder in his parents' death.
