Boy dies after being found unresponsive at Broward Youth Treatment Center

Police investigating death; foul play not suspected

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – The Pembroke Pines Police Department is investigating the death of a boy who was found unresponsive Monday night at the Broward Youth Treatment Center.

First responders got the call at about 11:42 p.m. regarding the unresponsive boy.

"Upon police arrival, life-saving measures were underway by the medical staff at Broward Youth Treatment Center," Pembroke Pines police spokeswoman Amanda Conwell said. 

The boy was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he  was declared dead.

Police are now investigating the death but said that foul play is not suspected.
