The move bucks a recent trend by some retailers to remain closed on Thanksgiving.

Simon Malls owns 10 properties in South Florida, including Dadeland and Sawgrass Mills.

General Growth Properties, which owns Bayside Marketplace and Village of Merrick Park, also confirmed it would open the doors to its malls.

A Simon representative told Fortune that stores in its malls are not required to open, but that most do. Each mall has different holiday operating hours, so check before you shop.

Despite the competition remaining open, the Aventura Mall has denied the lure of additional shoppers and will keep its doors locked on turkey day.

The largest mall in the country, Mall of America in Minnesota, previously announced that it would remain closed on Thanksgiving.

Stores such as Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Marshalls, Dillard's, IKEA, and T.J. Maxx have also pledged to stay closed.
