17 vehicles burglarized reported overnight in Wilton Manors

2 taken into custody, police say

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Two people were arrested Wednesday morning after 17 vehicles were burglarized overnight in Wilton Manors, authorities said.

Police said officers saw two people riding bicycles along Andrews Avenue without headlights so they pulled them over.

During the traffic stop, the officers discovered that the suspects had tools commonly used in burglaries, including glass smashing tools, gloves and flashlights.

Police said the officers received information while they were talking to the duo that multiple vehicles had been broken into and damaged in the area.

A photo of one vehicle shows the driver's side window smashed out.

Police said the vehicles that were burglarized were parked along Northwest Ninth Avenue, west of Powerline Road and as far east as Northeast First Way.

Police said one of the burglars is under 18 and the other was identified as Christopher Snell, 26.

Both face charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools.
