2 men take man's Porsche, burglarize his home, use his credit cards

Miami detectives search for 2 in armed robbery, burglary, carjacking

MIAMI – In a few days, William Echterling lost his backpack, his wallet with his credit cards, his Porsche Panamera and his home in Miami was burglarized. He said two men were to blame.

Echeterling told police an older teen who robbed him pointed a black semi-automatic pistol in his direction. And as Echterling tried to open his front door, the man about 5-feet 8-inches tall shouted, "Hey!"

The gunman wasn't alone. Echterling said another man about 5 feet 5-inches tall was standing next to him when he was forced to hand over his backpack, wallet and his keys -- including the keys to his car.

"The suspects began to use the victim's  credit cards in various stores within the northern Miami-Dade County area," Lt. Freddie Cruz II said in a report.

After the Nov. 8 robbery, police believe the same men returned to Echterling's home in Miami's Little Haiti four days later early Friday morning.

"Detectives believe there is a big resemblance," Cruz said in the report.

Surveillance video shows the burglary in progress. Police were asking anyone with information to call the Miami Police Department's robbery unit at 305-603-6370 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
