Hollywood woman arrested after shooting victim in her home, police say

Shanice Reynolds, 22, arrested for carrying concealed weapon

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A Hollywood woman was arrested Wednesday after she shot another woman in her home, authorities said.

The shooting was reported about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at 2127 Roosevelt St.

Hollywood police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said detectives were called to the home after an argument between two friends escalated.

Grossman said the suspect, Shanice Reynolds, 22, fired her gun at the victim, who was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital.

According to an arrest report, Reynolds and a man walked out the back door of the home and were taken into custody by police.

Police said a semi-automatic handgun was found in Reynolds' front left pocket during a patdown. She was also found with a cigarette box containing 19 alprazolam (Xanax) pills, the report said.

Reynolds was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed firearm without a license and possession of alprazolam.

Although authorities said she is believed to have shot the victim, she is not yet facing charges in connection with the shooting.
