Quarrel among friends leads to murder-suicide in West Park

Man fatally shoots neighbor, self after early morning argument

WEST PARK, Fla. – A man killed himself after fatally shooting his friend during a quarrel early Saturday in West Park, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Friends and family told detectives that neighbors Henry Zito, 33, and Abdiel Morales, 30, had been hanging out all night, drinking and talking, when they got into an argument shortly after 2 a.m. on Southwest 58th Terrace.

Zito walked across the street, grabbed his gun, returned and shot Morales in the chest, BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said.

Morales' longtime friend then held the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, Concepcion said.

Zito was pronounced dead in front of a vacant home at 3715 SW 58th Terrace.

Morales was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Concepcion said it wasn't known what the argument was about.
