Boy hurt in hit-and-run will make it home in time for Thanksgiving

Miramar police haven't made any arrests yet

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A 7-year-old boy was released from Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital on Wednesday night, after he was struck by an alleged hit-and-run driver over the weekend.

Relatives of Jayden McFarlane said they were grateful to have him home for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Felissa McFarlane, Jayden's mother, said it felt like a miracle that the boy not only survived the crash, but only suffered minor injuries.

Jayden was riding his bicycle Sunday morning in his Miramar neighborhood when the driver of a green van struck him and kept on going.

The Miramar Police Department said the van's owner has come forward.

As of late Wednesday, no arrests had been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miramar police.
