Accidental shooting leads to crash on Hallandale Beach Blvd.

Passenger says gun accidentally discharged, striking driver

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – One person was taken to a hospital early Wednesday morning after an accidental shooting caused a crash in Hallandale Beach.

Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Gina Carter said deputies were called to a rollover crash on Hallandale Beach Boulevard, just west of Interstate 95, about 2:30 a.m.

Carter said a passenger in the car told deputies that a gun in his possession accidentally fired, striking the driver and causing the crash.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Four people were initially trapped inside the car after the crash. They were rescued.
