2-year-old saves twin brother trapped under dresser

Utah mother hopes incident serves as warning to other parents

UTAH COUNTY, Utah – A toddler in Utah rescued his twin brother after a dresser fell on top of him.

The rescue was recorded by a video monitor in the boys' room.

Brock and Bowdy Shoff were climbing on the dresser drawers in their bedroom when it tumbled over, falling on top of Brock.

The 2-year-old boy was trapped underneath the furniture and crying when Bowdy managed to free his brother by pushing the dresser off him.

Kayli Shoff said she hopes the incident will serve as a warning to other parents to secure their furniture.

"Everybody needs to bolt down their dressers to the wall," Shoff said. "I mean, we just didn't think about it."

The boys are OK, and their dresser is now bolted to the wall.

"We just want to spread awareness to this one accident that happened and hope that it doesn't happen to any other families," Shoff said.
