Gunman robs 7-Eleven in Tamarac, pedals away on BMX bicycle

Detectives try to find robber who pointed gun at clerk's head

TAMARAC, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are trying to find a crook who robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store in Tamarac and used a BMX bicycle to make his getaway.

The Dec. 8 armed robbery of the 7-Eleven on Nob Hill Road was captured on surveillance video.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said the robber parked his bike outside the store and ran inside, jumped over the counter and pointed a gun at the clerk's head. Carter said the gunman told the clerk he had five seconds to open the cash register.

The robber emptied the cash from both registers into a bag and then jumped back over the counter before pedaling away.

Surveillance video showed that the robber was wearing a dark zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a black T-shirt, black pants and a mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call BSO detectives at 954-321-4738 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
