Police search for 2 robbers who targeted 76-year-old woman

Dania Beach homeowner says she begged for dogs' lives

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Police caught one man and were looking for two more accused of being involved in a burglary targeting a 76-year-old woman in Dania Beach.

Louise Pfister said on Friday, three days after the burglary, that she was still in fear. She said one of the three men who broke into her home put a gun to her head.

Pfister was sitting at her dining table, when one of her dogs started to bark. It made the burglars nervous.

"Shut that dog up, or I am going to shoot it," one of the men shouted, according to Pfister.

She begged them not to hurt her dogs. They took about $1,030 in cash and other valuables.

The man police caught, Daniel Carter, is accused of holding her, while the other two ransacked her home. He faces charges of armed home invasion and elderly abuse without great bodily harm.
