Bal Harbour under precautionary boil-water order after water main break

Water used for drinking, cooking should be boiled until further notice

BAL HARBOUR, Fla. – A boil-water order has been issued for Bal Harbour after a 30-inch water main broke.

The Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department said Sunday that Bal Harbour was placed under a precautionary boil-water order because of a temporary loss of water during the emergency repair.

All water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled until further notice. There is no problem with using the water for bathing or other household needs.

Water and Sewer Department officials will be sampling the water. Once all tests are cleared, the boil-water order will be lifted.

One home in Bay Harbor Islands was also affected.
