Gunman opens fire in Coconut Creek barbershop

Armed employee runs after gunman, police say


COCONUT CREEK, Fla. – A man wearing a hoodie and a red bandanna shot at a Coconut Creek barbershop employee Tuesday night, police said.

The shooting took place about 7 p.m. at Sidelines Barbershop, 4400 W. Hillsboro Blvd.

Coconut Creek police said the shooter entered the barbershop, pulled out a gun and then fired at the 25-year-old victim. The gunman fled toward the parking lot, where a vehicle was waiting.

As the gunman was making his getaway, an armed employee, who wasn't the victim, ran into the parking lot and fired shots at him, police said.

No injuries were reported.
