Daniel Fournier is accused of threatening to hit another man with a brush from a barbecue grill at a Florida Keys campsite.

FIESTA KEY, Fla. – A Canadian man was arrested Thursday night after he threatened to hit another man with a brush from a barbecue grill, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

Daniel Fournier, 58, and the other man were staying at adjacent campsites at the Fiesta Key campground.

Witnesses said Fournier was intoxicated and had been harassing other campers throughout the day. Campground security eventually called deputies after Fournier threatened to hit another man with a large barbecue grill brush, holding it over the man's head, Herrin said.

Fournier refused to leave the campground with his wife when asked by security, and he refused to listen to a deputy who told him that he would have to leave or be arrested, Herrin said.

After numerous warnings, the deputy grabbed Fournier by the arm and was attempting to handcuff him when Fournier resisted, struggling to get free, Herrin said.

Fournier was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest.
