Police search for person of interest after woman shot to death in apartment

Oscar E. Gonzalez named person of interest in death of Rosemery Ramirez-Morales

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are searching for a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old woman found dead Saturday in her west Miami-Dade County apartment.

Miami-Dade police said Rosemery Ramirez-Morales was shot about 1 a.m. in her apartment at the Fontainebleau Milton.

Police said a man called 911 about an incident at the apartment complex, but he didn't provide an apartment number. Officers were unable to locate the apartment.

Ramirez-Morales was found by her roommate hours later, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Oscar E. Gonzalez, 28, is wanted for questioning in the shooting. Police found his gray Chevrolet Camaro, but Gonzalez is still being sought.

"It sounds like it's a domestic situation, sadly," neighbor Vanessa Hernandez told Local 10 News.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
