MIAMI – Miami police are searching for two men they believe robbed a woman at gunpoint Wednesday in Miami's El Portal neighborhood, police said.
A perimeter for the men has been set up at Northwest Seventh Avenue and 71st Street.
Two men at the corner of Northwest Seventh Avenue and Northwest 71st Street threw a woman to the ground and made off with her purse, police said.
Soon after the incident, police spotted a car in connection with the robbery and followed it.
The car crashed at a dead end street at Northwest Second Court and Northwest 93rd Street, police said.
The men bailed out of the vehicle when police caught up to them, police said. The men remain at large.
"We still have a very active scene," Officer Kenia Fallat of Miami Police said. "Two men that are believed to be within the perimeter are believed (to be) extremely dangerous and heavily armed."
Meanwhile, two females, whose ages are unknown, have been taken into custody in connection with the case.
