Wilton Manors police search for 2 men in robbery

Getaway car believed to be a black Kia with front-end damage

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Wilton Manors police are investigating a robbery in the 600 block of Northwest 22nd Street.

It happened at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

The home that was targeted has an alarm sign in front and is in a neighborhood with a citizens crime watch.

"They were dusting a 5-gallon change jar that someone dumped in the street, getting fingerprints on it," a resident said. "The helicopter was flying around and I was close by so I took a walk down there to see what was going on."

This robbery comes less than a week after two men ambushed a man in the middle of the night in a nearby Wilton Manors neighborhood.

The man was pistol whipped and robbed.

"I never thought it could happen to me and that it would happen in Wilton Manors," the  victim said.

Police are searching a man with short hair and a stocky build in connection to Saturday’s incident.

They're also looking for a man who has dreadlocks, clear glasses, a medium build and was seen with a revolver.

The getaway car is believed to be a black Kia with possible front-end damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
