3 teens injured in rollover crash in Miami

Teens, all under 16, taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center

MIAMI – Three teenagers were injured Friday morning in a rollover crash in Miami.

The crash was reported shortly before 9 a.m. at Northwest 15th Avenue and Northwest 35th Street.

Police said a Toyota 4-Runner crashed and overturned, ejecting at least one of the passengers.

Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said the teens, all under the age of 16, were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. He said their injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

Carroll said two other teens may have been in the vehicle.

"Our biggest concern is that if there were other people inside the vehicle, what kind of injuries did they have?" Carroll said. "Did they leave the area thinking that they may get in trouble?"

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
