Woman arrested in death of 85-year-old man in northwest Miami-Dade

Police say Lashundra Fair shot victim, hid gun


MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 31-year-old woman was arrested Thursday in the shooting death of Carlton Fair, 85, Miami-Dade police said.

Fair was shot Feb. 19 in front of his home in the 1800 block of Northwest 74th Street.

Detective Marjorie Eloi said Lashundra Fair shot and killed Carlton Fair while visiting his home. Eloi said Lashundra Fair then fled and hid the gun in a neighboring yard.

Carlton Fair was found with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lashundra Fair faces a charge of second-degree murder. She was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

A motive for the shooting was not revealed.
