Vandals caught on camera tossing buckets of tar on Dania Beach home

Resident believes 1 of 2 men involved is former roofer

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Office detectives have released surveillance video of two men who tossed buckets of tar onto a Dania Beach home last fall.

The incident was reported Sept. 29, but BSO detectives released the home surveillance video Monday in hopes that someone can identify the vandals.

In the video, two men can be seen arriving in a minivan and carrying buckets to the front of the home. One of the men, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, tosses the tar onto the home. The camera catches a clear glimpse of his face.

The men poured the tar on the front door, front walls and driveway.

According to a BSO incident report, Vincent Abram said he believed one of the men in the video was his former roofer, who was involved in a lawsuit with Abram.

"It was a mess," Abram said. "We had to shovel it up, and then we had to basically take thinners and so forth to clean it up. You know, it took us a good while."

Abram estimated the damage to his home at $3,000.

Anyone who recognizes the men is asked to call the BSO at 954-518-0138 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
