Men disguised as women rob Pompano Beach check-cashing store

Detectives believe same pair robbed Deerfield Beach jewelry store last week

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Two men disguised as women robbed a check-cashing store Thursday morning in Pompano Beach.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies were called to an armed robbery just after 8:30 a.m. at Sam's Subs & Beverages.

Deputies said the robbers forced the employees to the back of the shop, which doubles as a check-cashing store.

Detectives believe the same men were dressed as women when they robbed Class Jewelers in Deerfield Beach last week.

Surveillance video from the March 3 armed robbery showed the gender-bending crooks lure two employees to the display cases when the robbers jumped over the counter, pulled out guns and forced the women to a back room.

The gunmen ransacked the display cases and demanded that the employees open the door.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call detectives at 954-321-4332 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
