MIAMI – The Cuban government announced on Thursday that they will be offering medical school scholarships to Colombian guerrilla fighters to help them transition during the peace process.
José Luis Ponce, the Cuban ambassador in Colombia, said the plan is to grant the scholarships to displaced members of the FARC, or the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, as Latin America's last major guerrilla conflict comes to an end.
