Miami duplex fire sends 4 to hospital

2 men trapped inside building taken to hospital with serious injuries

MIAMI – Four people were taken to a hospital after a duplex fire Friday morning in Miami.

The fire started about 2 a.m. at 6301 Northeast Fifth Avenue.

Firefighters arrived and found flames coming out of one side of the duplex, Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said.

Two men were trapped inside. They were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Two women on the opposite side of the building were also taken to Jackson Memorial hospital. Their injuries were not immediately known.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
