Armed robbers ransack Peoples Pawn & Jewelry in Pembroke Park

March 29 robbery caught on surveillance video

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for a pair of armed robbers who ransacked a Pembroke Park pawn shop last month.

The robbery took place March 29 at Peoples Pawn & Jewelry on Southwest 30th Avenue near Hallandale Beach Boulevard, just west of Interstate 95.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said one of two men pulled out a gun and ordered the staff to get on the floor while the second man shattered the glass display cases and threw jewelry into a plastic bin.

The robbery was captured on surveillance video.

The Broward Sheriff's Office released this sketch of one of the men who robbed Peoples Pawn & Jewelry in Pembroke Park.

Carter said the gunman could be seen haphazardly pointing his gun at the employees while he tried to pick up jewelry that had fallen on the floor. She said the men got away in a black, newer-model four-door Lincoln with a shattered rear windshield.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the BSO at 954-321-4738 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
