Marathon man arrested in fatal stabbing at Florida Keys mobile home park

Kyle Miller faces charges of second-degree murder, grand theft auto

MARATHON, Fla. – A Marathon man was arrested Monday after he fatally stabbed another man and stole a car, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

Kyle Miller, 29, was stopped by deputies in Tavernier while driving north in a stolen 2000 Cadillac Eldorado, Herrin said.

The car was missing from the driveway of a mobile home park where Andre Howard, 34, was found dead on the side of a road.

Homicide detectives said they believe Miller fatally stabbed Howard during an early-morning argument. A newspaper delivery woman found Howard's body about 4 a.m. and called 911.

Detectives followed a blood trail from the body to a mobile home belonging to Jack Belknap, who was the registered owner of the stolen car. Detectives said Miller is an acquaintance of Belknap whom he calls "uncle."

Miller told detectives that he stabbed Howard after Howard made unwanted sexual advances toward him, Herrin said.

Belknap said Miller didn't have permission to use his car.

Miller faces charges of second-degree murder and grand theft auto.
