MIAMI – A man was shot during an attempted robbery early Thursday morning in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood.
The victim and his friends were walking to their car near Northwest First Avenue and Northwest 26th Street when three armed men approached them and tried to rob them, one of the friends told Local 10 News.
"All three of them had weapons," the man, who asked not to be identified, said. "One, you know, told us to get down on the ground. I ran off. Two shots rang off. My boy got hit. That's it. That's all I know."
The gunmen got away.
Miami paramedics took the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. His condition has not been released.
The Miami Police Department was asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
