Surveillance video captures vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run in Oakland Park

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Surveillance video released Wednesday shows the vehicle that is believed to have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run last week in Oakland Park.

The crash was reported just after 8:30 p.m. Friday in the area of 600 E. Commercial Blvd.

Deputies said Kinna Collander, 28, was walking south across East Commercial Boulevard, in or near the crosswalk, and near Northeast Sixth Avenue, when he was struck by a vehicle.

The vehicle continued driving west on Commercial Boulevard without stopping, authorities said.

Collander was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.

Deputies said the vehicle is light in color and might have damage to its front bumper, hood and windshield.
