Resource officer pepper-sprays dog after postal worker knocked down

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ā€“ A Stranahan High School resource officer stopped a dog from attacking a postal worker Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident was reported in the 700 block of Southwest 16th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale police spokesman Kenneth Giles said the dog knocked down the postal worker and a school resource officer intervened, pepper-spraying the dog to stop the attack.

The postal worker was not injured.

It's unclear whether the dog was a stray or belonged to someone.
